اطہر شاہ خان، جیدی، ۱۹۴۳ میں رامپور یو پی، برطانوی ہندوستان میں پیدا ہوئے اور جلد ہی پاکستان آگئے۔ وہ صحافت میں ماسٹرز ڈگری کے حامل ہیں، اور ہومیوپیتھی کے مستند ڈاکٹر بھی ہیں۔

انہوں نے اپنی نوجوانی ہی میں پاکستانی میڈیا میں اپنا لوہا منوالیا۔ انہوں نے پاکستانی ٹی وی کے ۱۹۶۴ میں اجراء کے فوراً بعد ہی اسے فتح کرلیا۔ اور کروڑوں ناظرین کے دلوں میں جگہ بنالی۔ وہ آج بھی وہیں راج کرتے ہیں۔

ان کی معصومیت، الہڑپن، مضحکہ خیز حلیہ، ایک سنجیدہ شخصیت کو چھپائے ہوئے ہے۔ انہوں نے ریڈیو، ٹی وی، تھیٹر، اور فلم سب کے لیے لکھا اور کام بھی کیا۔ ان کا ذہن شفاف، اور نظریں معاشرتی ناہمواریوں پر کسی عقاب کی نظر رکھتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے کلاسیکی دل چسپ پنجابی فلم "منجھی کتھے ڈھاواں"، اور پہلی مکمل پاکستانی رنگین فلم "بازی" بھی تحریر کی۔ ادیب، شاعر، مزاح نگار، ریڈیو براڈکاسٹر، ٹی وی ، فلم اور تھیٹر ڈائریکشن، انہوں نے ہر میدان مارا۔

جناب ڈاکٹر اطہر شاہ خان کو پاکستان کا بہترین اعزاز "ُپرائڈ آف پرفارمنس" مل چکا ہے، اور پی ٹی وی نے اپنی گولڈن جوبلی پر ان کی خدمات کے اعتراف میں انہیں سونے کا تمغہ عطا کیا۔

ایک مقبول ترین میڈیا شخصیت ہونے کے باوجود جناب اطہر شاہ خان، جیدی، ایک شرمیلی شخصیت کے حامل ہیں۔ وہ اپنی پرائیویسی کی بہت حفاظت کرتے ہیں۔ تاہم ہم نے انہیں مجبور کردیا کہ وہ اب جدید ترین میڈیا، انٹرنیٹ، کے لیے اپنی زندگی کے چند دل چسپ گوشوں سے پردہ اٹھائیں۔

Athar Shah Khan, born 1943, in Rampur UP, British India, migrated to Pakistan in his early childhood. He is Masters in Journalism, and also is a qualified doctor in alternative medicine of homeopathy.

He revolutionized the Pakistan Television and entertainment industry from his very young age, in early 1960s. Television became available in 1964, and he entered the scene and conquered it. He is still a King of his own domains. His innocence, his perception of the Pakistani society, urdu writing skills, urdu drama, direction, acting, urdu poetry, urdu humour, short stories, and columns all have captured the minds and interests of Urdu lovers all over the world. He has used every available performing art medium, radio, theater, TV, and films.

He has written over 700 radio plays, many Tv drama serials and solos, and many films including the Punjabi classic "Manjhi Kithay Dhwan", and the first full color Pakistani hit movie "Baazi".

In spite of his all this success, Dr. Athar Shah Khan M.A., better known as "Jedi" after a lovable role that he created and performed too, remains a quiet and a private person. Little is known about his family life. And he jealously guards his privacy!

In spite of this, Justuju Tv prevailed upon him, and after some resistance he wielded to talk to You through the new age medium of Internet. We hope that you would like his discourse.
